Received the nosegearwire. Finished it up so it fit into the Robart gear.
Went to fly today and put 3 flights on. goes just fine and the crow seems to ease the landingfloat problems.

By the way the Serpent is almost half built already, but it sure helps that I am a long time scratchbuilder.

Well my 54 finally flew with me as the pilot today. A BLAST!!!
Got a couple of flights. Got a little windy but it did not seem to bother the plane at all.

Attached some pics of my design to help keep nosegear steering cables out of the way. Simple block of balsa locking a piece of nyrod with an eyelet in the end. Will lay flat against side...

I did not build my RE54, but I love built up surfaces. I have a kaos that is now 6 years old and although it is fuelsoaked the tailfeathers (built up) are still as straight as the day I built them....

Last week the weather finally was a little better and I did all the testrunning, balancing, flapsetting, brakes etc. Now the waiting is for 55degrees and 5 knots and she will fly.

I BOUGHT A NEW READY BUILT RE 54 FROM HAL PETERS. HAD TO DRIVE DOWN TO FLORIDA FROM NEW YORK TO GET IT. BUT IT WAS WELL WORTH IT. THE ONLY CHANGE I MADE REALLY WAS TO ACTIVATE THE RUDDER...
