Even a "heavy" R-54 can match the Leonardo's slow speed range but the large size of that plane makes it appear to be flying much slower.

Looking good. Be sure to arrange your fuel tubing so that JetCat filter is vertical. You don't want to trap a bubble in there. Leaving it loose is fine.

Assuming this is a gas start engine, I would mount it with the glow plug in the 4 or 8 o'clock position for easy access to the plug. Should not be a problem.
