John, I have a P70 in mine and it is all glassed (3/4 ounce cloth) and painted. It is certainly heavier than you average R54 ..... but it flies extremely well and can land at very slow speeds...

Thanks guys for the info/recomendations on which struts to use for the mains (a while back I had asked which struts people were using). I went with the Robart 660's ..... as some had suggested. ...

I read an earlier post (that I can no longer find) regarding using Robart struts (for the mains) instead of the stock wire. Their length had to be cut a bit ..... but once cut, they could be used...

Marty, I use a seperate air tank (a small one). I also use the Jet-Tronics brake valve. It is small and plugs directly into the reciever (no servo is required). Bob

Marty, I am using the stock wire struts with Trim wheels/brakes. I silver soldered an 'L' piece of metal onto the wire to keep the brake hub from rotating/moving. Bob

Performed the maiden flight on my R54 yesterday. What a great design ..... only a couple of clicks of trim needed. Was a bit high on the landing approach ...... and for a second considered going...

Wondering if most people are using Aileron Differential in their Reaction 54's ? I thought I read a post (that I can no longer find) that said it was not needed or ineffective for this aircraft. ...

Keith, If you get short on room, reconsider the rear top hatch. It gives you access to a lot of room. Back there I will have my ECU, the starting gas cannister, and the starting gas selenoid. Bob
