Sounds like you need some knee action struts. I've had good luck with the Prolink struts from Dreamworks. I usually have to replace the springs each season.

That's pretty close to my set-up: Jets Munt M90 with 80 oz, Dubro tank. The timer starts when the gear goes up. I fly for 7 minutes, and have plenty of reserve.

If I had it to do over again I would have made the whole fuse 1 inch wider to accomodate more equipment up front. I had to mount the smoke pump in the back.
