Pterosaur
You won't regret the wait, as this plane is not only fun to fly, it is also a very enjoyable build. Hang in there.............

RE: Reaction 54 Jet Kit

The differential can be setup either way. If the aileron horns are in line with the hinge line you can just set the servo arm a notch toward the L.E. mechanically. I don't know what radio you have,...

RE: Reaction 54 Jet Kit

Thanks Tommy. I already have the 1/2" inside so maybe sheet with 3/8" or 1/2 might give it a more rounded look. What does your wing weigh ?

RE: Reaction 54 Jet Kit

John,
Very nice ! I like it. You will love the way it flys. Been flying mine for a few years and still my favorite plane. I think a Reaction 44+ will be on my building board after the SM F-86 is...

RE: Reaction 54 Jet Kit

Samo
The mains are now Robarts 7/16" cut short. I had to cut them shorter than Robart recommended and that included cutting the springs. Just using the retract unit as the top spring stop. The...

RE: Reaction 54 Jet Kit

Yes the Reaction is a fine plane. Fly it fast, fly it slooow, land it fast, land it slow, it don't matter it just does it ! With the Simjet 1200 at 18# thrust it is surprisingly fast, yet with full...

RE: Reaction 54 Jet Kit

Well, three more flights today and no problems. 22 mph winds didn't even bother it at all.
Tommy, tried your party trick, fly past just above idle then pull up and kick it. It's very quiet and then...

RE: Reaction 54 Jet Kit

Has anyone tried a second tank? Lots of room and the Facet 1200 has the 40 oz tank mounted all the way in the front. This a 24 oz Sullivan.

RE: Reaction 54 Jet Kit

Another of the first 48 took to the air today, at last. Simjet 1200, Robart gear, Trim main wheels and brakes, home made struts, Monokoted and came in at 19 lbs dry. Flys great and lands even better....

RE: Reaction 54 Jet Kit

Tommy,

The Simjet 1200 uses the Wren 54 turbine wheels so it is close to the same size. The wheels are on back order from Wren so it will be a while before Sj has any built I've been told. I...

RE: Reaction 54 Jet Kit

Tommy,
How's your second Reaction coming along ? Mines built but not completely covered. Kind of rethinking the iron on stuff. Just wondering if you glassed yours yet. Any pictures ?

RE: Reaction 54 Jet Kit

Thanks Guys
Tommy, what is the weight of your RTF Reaction? I have a MKll so I'll need to keep it as light as I can. I guess it will be Monokoted to keep it light. It has been years since I've used...

RE: Reaction 54 Jet Kit

Just a couple of shots to show what the Facet plans show for a tailpipe setup. This is a 5" pipe with 2x4's drywall screwed together. Works great. BTW my Reaction is still in the box. I did...

RE: Reaction 54 Jet Kit

Dave,
If you use the Compact Unibrake with the Robart wheel/tire,it replaces the inside half of the hub and that setup uses a short axle so the struts you have now may work. The only problem may be...
