I've flown the 60 sized version, and liked it, but I'm working my way through my existing stock of kits, before I purchase anything else. I have 3 or 4 kits on hand, so it'll be awhile before I could consider it.

In Photos 1-3 notice the hole that I drilled on the bottom of the fuselage. This hole is for the ignition wire to pass through. The rubber grommet will stop any chaffing between the wood and ignition wire. One of my pet peeves that I wish the engine makers would correct would be to have a plug-in ignition wire that connects to the ignition module instead of a lead that is hard wired into the module. If this were a removable connector, then the hole would be half the size!

Don't think I would be able to do it Tom unless I rip apart my module, and the chances are that I wouldn't have the right size connectors to fit that wire. It would be sort of like trying to put a new end on your spark plug wire on your car. For the life of me I don't know why they don't do it when they're building the modules, unless there's a reason that I not aware of.

As much as I wanted to have a pull/pull system to control the rudder, it's just too tight and I don't have the room. I'll have to settle for two tandem mounted servos for rudder and elevator control. I need the open space that I have in front of the platform for access to the wing bolts... this platform will be glued into place and will give important support to the sides of the fuselage that the wings will exert.
Note: This platform has not yet been glued into place. I still have to finalize where my wing anti-rotation pins will be located in the sides of the fuselage, and this can't be done until the wings are built and their incidence dialed in. I'm still holding out hope that somehow I'll be able to fit in a pull/pull system...

I know this doesn't have anything to do with my Tiger build but I wanted to show you what I've been working on while I've been waiting for glue to dry between pieces.
With Christmas Eve soon approaching, I have always enjoyed spending it with my mother (and family), who is now 82 years young. We promised last year that this Christmas we wouldn't buy presents for each other, other than for the children. Well technically I didn't buy this for my mom, I thought about what to get for an old Italian mother who loves to cook. Well I looked no farther than my wood pile, and pulled out a white birch log that was earmarked for the wood stove. A few hours later a wooden spoon emerged, hope she likes it! It's my first attempt at carving a spoon...

Thanks Tom, I think you're right. There is something about carving that I think I would enjoy doing more of. I figured I owed her this spoon since she has broken many of them over my head growing up.

Vince your a wood worker, well sort of, I should of said a man of many hats that fit well. Looks like a sauce spoon, your mom should like it, however the finish could be a problem depending on what you put on it, "cooking oil maybe ?"
Sounds like you have a nice Christmas on tap, I sure hope so, that goes to all who are looking in, might as well add a wonderful New Year that's right behind it, I think we're going to need it.

Thanks Leroy, was wondering where you've been. I made sure to coat the spoon with a product that has mineral oil and some type of bees wax. This product is for butcher blocks and salad bowls. Merry Christmas to you and your wife Leroy...

Today's progress on the Tiger. Getting ready to build a removable canopy as its base has been completed. For the most part the fuselage is assembled, and I'm happy to report that not only is it square and straight, but any tail flex has been eliminated!

How right you are Leroy. Christmas day I plan on clearing off the work table and start on the wings!
I'm on schedule with the Bravo. All of the flaps, ailerons and servo hatches have been prepped and riveted. Since I'm off this week so I plan on painting those final few items to get that project completed...

Made a removable framework/cradle that will be secured to the plastic canopy. Two 2-56 cap head screws will secure the rear of the canopy in place onto the fuselage. I haven't decided whether I'll use magnets or a dowel in the front.
I think the only wood that I've used from this kit so far has been the top and sides of the fuselage, as well as a couple formers, the rest was made by me...lol

Time to build some wings!
Photos 1-2 I always thought that the stock distance between the ribs was too far apart, so I reworked the plans and spaced the ribs 3 inches on center. The red pen lines show their new locations. Their are a total of 11 ribs per wing panel, make note that I will be shortening the wing length.
Photos 3-5 Test fitting the first five ribs on the right wing to see how well the wing tube will fit. I am very happy that everything lines up perfectly! If my measurements are correct I will end up with 1/2" dihedral for each wing panel. Note that ribs 1 & 2 are cut from 1/8" lite ply.
Photo 6 Now that I know that the wing tube locations are correct, I marked the locations for the wing tube on left wing panel ribs. I want to make sure I register each of the ribs in the same location, so I reused the dowel hole that I drilled before to line all of the ribs up when I sanded them as one.

I really like your canopy mounting style Vince. Going to put that one in the books as I never have liked using screws.
